Who provides training?
As an apprentice or trainee you will usually get two types of training :
- workplace based (provided by your employer)
- off-the-job (provided by a training organisation)
Usually it's a combination of both.
You and your employer will choose a registered training organisation for your off-the-job training and agree on a training plan. (If your employer is a training organisation, they may provide the off-the-job training for you.)
A training plan outlines everything you need to accomplish to get your qualifications. Sample plans exist for your apprenticeship/traineeship. See Guidelines to assist in developing a training plan (Word - 59Kb). It is best to tailor a training plan to suit your needs and those of your employer. (Note: New sample plans are currently being developed.)
